• Bigger is Better - 8" marine speakers play louder and sound better than 6.5" speakers. The larger cone area delivers better mid-bass response and they hanlde more power.
• 1" PXNX Tweeter - The M2 6.5" speakers use a proprietary tweeter material called PXNX. This tweeter delivers the best combination of both clarity and volume. These speakers deliver the bright highs to cut through the engine, wind, and water noise without the aggressiveness that you sometimes get from alloy tweeters like titanium and aluminum.
• 250W RMS Power Handling - More power means that the speakers can play louder, with more clarity, better sound quality, and with less distortion. These speakers handle more power than any other 8" coaxial marine speaker and they are super efficient. You get the best of both worlds.
• Sport and Stainless Mesh Grilles Included - The speakers come with both the sport style and stainless mesh grilles in the box.
• Color Optix RGB LEDs - The M2 speakers and subwoofers come with Rockford's Color Optix RGB LEDs. When you use the Rockford PMX-RGB LED controller, you can customize the color output or select from 30 different color changing modes using the RF connect app on your phone. In addition, the Color Optix RGB LED system is designed to be plug and play. No cutting, twisting, crimping, soldering, or heat shrinking required. You do have to buy the Color Optix cables, but you plug one end of the cable into the PMX-RGB and the other end of the cable into the speaker or subwoofer. This saves you significant installation time and a headache.
• Hard Hitting Bass that Costs Less - Rockford is known for subwoofers and these M2 10 inch marine subwoofers are no exception. You get a 10" subwoofer that handles more power, has more installation flexibility, and costs less money than the other guys.
• 400W RMS Subwoofer - The more power you can send to your subwoofer, the harder they will hit and the better they will sound. At 400 watts RMS, the 10" M2 handles more power than the other guys, it will last just as long, and it costs less money. There's no catch, it's just a great value.
• Versaswitch Voice Coils - The Versaswitch voice coils make the subwoofer wiring easy. You don't need to worry about wiring DVC subwoofers.
• Grilles & LEDs to Match the Speakers - The M2 subwoofers come with both the sport style and stainless steel mesh grilles to match the speakers.
• Choose The Amp(s) That fit Your Install and Budget - There are no bad amplifier choices. All of these amps will provide plenty of power to both the speakers and the subwoofer(s). The right amp for you depends on the number of subwoofers, your budget and power requirements, and how much space you have. If you have plenty of space, I like the PM (Punch Marine) options because they have huge heat sinks and you can rail on them all day long, no matter how hot it is, and not have to worry. If you are tight on space, the M5 amps produce a ton of power, but they are compact chassis amplifiers and they tend to run a little warmer. You can choose between the following and there are no bad options:
  Amplifier Breakdown:
  • (1) PM1000X5 - Full-size 5 channel amplifier that will do the job to power the 4 speakers and 1 subwoofer. And, there's only 1 amplifier to install.
  • (1) M5-1500X5 - If you are limited on space, the M5-1500X5 delivers similar performance as the PM1000X5, but compact, smaller amps tend to run hotter. It's a tough call between this an the PM1000X5, but give me the full-size amp over the mini amp. I'm old school.
  • (1) PM1000X5 + (1) PM600X4 - This is the way to go if you want to overpower the speakers, and you have one subwoofer. Bridge channels 1-4 on the PM1000X5 to power two speakers and use the subwoofer channel to power the subwoofer. Then bridge the PM600X4 to power the other pair of speakers.
  • (1) M5-1500X5 + (1) M5-800X4 - This is ideal if you want to overpower the speakers but you are limited on space, and you have 1 subwoofer. Bridge channels 1-4 on the 5 channel to power two speakers, use the subwoofer channel to power the subwoofer. Then bridge the M5-800X4 to power the other pair of speakers.
  • (2) PM600X4 + (1) PM1000X1bd - This is what we recommend if you are selecting two subwoofers and you want to make sure you overpower everything to keep the gains down, and you have plenty of space for 3 full-size amplifiers. Bridge each PM600X4 to power a pair of speakers. Then, use the PM1000X1bd to power the two subwoofers at 2 Ohms.
  • (2) M5-800X4 + (1) M5-1000X1 - This is what we recommend if you are selecting two subwoofers and you want to make sure you overpower everything to keep the gains down, but you DO NOT have the space for three, full-size amplifiers. Bridge each M5-800X4 to power a pair of speakers. Then, use the M5-1000X1 to power the two subwoofers at 2 Ohms.

• Option to Add Marine Grade Amp Installation Kit(s) - If you don't already have a stereo system installed, we recommend adding the Stinger 4 AWG marine amp wiring kits. In addition, the power and ground cables are both 7 meters long because you need to run the ground back to the negative battery terminal. The power and ground cables are molded together like speaker wire which make it easier when routing the power and ground cables through your boat. There's one wire to pull instead of two. We recommend one amp kit for each amplifier.
