Marine Audio & Stereo Packages
- Do you want amazing sound in your boat but you don't know which components to pick?
- Do you want to make one purchase that will include everything you need?
- Do you want the peace of mind knowing that everything is going to work well together?
- Speakers + Amplifier
- Speakers + Subwoofer(s) + Amplifier
- Speakers + Tower Speakers + Amplifier
Our speakers + amplifier marine stereo packages allow you to select 4, 6, or 8 speakers and include an amplifier that is pre-selected to work perfectly with those speakers. We try to make it as easy as possible to find your speakers and find the correct amplifier to work with them. In most cases the amplifier is the same brand as the speakers because it makes things easy, and the marine audio companies that make speakers, make amplifiers that match up perfectly to their speakers.
Our speakers + subwoofer(s) + amplifier marine stereo packages use the same thought process, but instead of just including speakers and an amplifier, we add either 1 or 2 subwoofers. These packages include the necessary power for both the speakers and the subwoofer so you do not have to worry about finding the correct amplifier for the subwoofer. Since all boats are different, we let you select the number of subwoofers you need. Some boats have space for two subwoofers, others don't. If you can fit two subwoofers, we recommend going with two subwoofers because you get double the bass output and you usually do not need an extra amplifier if you wire the subwoofers in parallel.
Our speakers + tower speakers + amplifier package is for those that want speakers in the hull and either 2 or 4 tower speakers. Like our other packages, you can select between we have 4, 6, and 8 hull speakers and then 2 or 4 tower speakers. These packages are perfect if you are upgrading the stereo system in your wakeboard boat, if you have a pontoon boat with a tower, or any other boat that lends itself to tower speakers.
If you want a marine stereo package with hull speakers, tower speakers, and subwoofers, we recommend purchasing a speaker + subwoofer package and then adding a separate marine tower speakers package. The speaker + subwoofer stereo package will give you all of the power you need to power the speakers and the subwoofer. The wake tower speaker package will include both the tower speakers and the amplifier to power them.
Our marine stereo packages do not include wiring. Given the different sizes of boats and the numerous confugration options, it is nearly impossible to have a standard installation. The length of the amplifier wiring depends on where you mount the amplifiers and which side of the boat your battery is located. Also, many boats come from the factory with a stereo system. It usually is not as good as the ones we offer which is why people upgrade, but many of these boats already have wiring for the amplifier(s) in the boat. Because of added cost for the wiring kit, the number of people that don't need wiring at all, and the level of complexity involved with those that might need wiring, we sell it separately. This way, if you do need wiring, you can purchase what is perfect for YOUR boat without being forced to pay for something that you do not need, or paying for something that will not work on your boat.
We offer our marine stero packages using components from the top brands in the world including JL Audio, Rockford Fosgate, Kicker, Wet Sounds, and more. If you are trying to decide which brand to purchase, we recommend staying loyal to whatever you have liked in the past? If you have had Wet Sounds and you loved it, don't go looking for greener grass, stick with Wet Sounds. If you had a JL Audio system in your car and you are a, "JL Guy," stick with JL Audio. For instance, if I am a Kicker guy and I grew up with Kicker products, and I go with a JL marine stereo package, I will inevitably come across a boat with a Kicker stereo system, hear it, and think, "I made a mistake." Whether it is sound quality or price, it is best to stay loyal and true. Now if you have no loyalty, this decision can get a bit trickier. Since the speakers are the core component of your boat's stereo system, check out our marine speaker buyer's guide to get a break down of each brand's offering and our honest opinion on the best marine speakers.
If you are looking at a stereo package, but you can't decide between 6.5" and 8" speakers, we recommend going with the larger speakers. The 8" speakers have more cone area, most have larger tweeters, and they can handle more power than the 6.5" model. When you are out on the water, there's noise from the wind, and there's noise from the water, the more volume you can get from your speakers, the better. The larger cone will give you better mid bass response and most 8" speakers are more efficient in terms of volume than 6.5" speakers. Before deciding on larger speakers, make sure you measure to determine that you have enough space to fit the outer diameter of the speaker grille and enough clearance behind the speaker location to larger mounting depth.
We do not have stereo packages that include a head unit due to the complexity and the number of marine source units available. Some boats have a DIN sized head units, some boats use custom fit, square style marine head units, and other boats have full NMEA, black box control systems, and then we get into zones. There are too many variables with head units to put together speaker, amplifier, and head unit packages. If you need a head unit, we recommend purchasing one of our marine stereo packages and then adding the head unit on separately.
The loudest marine stereo packages we offer use Rockford Fosgate's 8" horn tweeter speakers. These speakers are insanely loud and agressive. Some people might argue that putting 8" horn tweeter speakers in the hull of your boat is a total waste because they are just too damn loud and you are paying for something that you might not able to tolerate. This is an accurate take on the horn tweeter speakers. Unless you love ear piercingly loud music, there's a good chance that you don't need horn tweeters because you will never turn the speakers up to that level. If you love loud, you will absolutely love these speakers. You may need to get out of the boat for your own sanity, but standing 20-30 feet away and being absolutely blown away by the music volume is something that some people enjoy.
If you are an audiophile and all about sound quality, we recommend our marine stereo packages that use the JL Audio M6 speakers. These speakers use specially treated, silk dome tweeters and some would argue that they are the best sounding speakers JL Audio has ever made. The faster your boat goes, the more fidelity you lose due to engine and wind noise, but at low speeds or docked, the JL Audio M6 is going to give you sound quality that other marine speakers simply can't match.
